Day 1 – We leave the sunny city of Lisbon in the morning towards Fatima where we will find one of the largest centers of pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary in the Catholic world, the famous shrine of Fatima attracts about 6 million pilgrims each year visit the Basilica of our Lady, the Chapel of Apparitions, Holy Trinity Church and also the House of the Three shepherd children in the Cova da Iria.
We follow then to Coimbra narrow streets, patios, stairways and medieval arches, Coimbra bathed by the Mondego river was the cradle of birth of six kings of Portugal and the First Dynasty as well as the first University in the country and one of the oldest in the world and the first record as a university happens in 1290.
Coimbra is a land of students but more than that is a land of traditions where they intersect the past and the future that has more charm at the time of farewell, our script says Aveiro affectionately known as the “Portuguese Venice” is cut by water streets where we can see sliding the colorful moliceiros boats, who gives a specific character. Who hears about the city of Aveiro, associates it immediately to it`s gastronomic ex-libris the Ovos Moles, Aveiro`s Conventual tradition heritage, then we follow to Porto for lodging.
Day 2 – We start the day with a walk in the famous city of Porto, the second largest city in Portugal, will riverside becomes fascinating for its stunning Douro River, with its narrow streets, typical houses and picturesque life after walking the city time for a visit to Vila Nova de Gaia for tastings of an old porto wine in the famous Port wine cellars overlooking the Ribeira district.
We follow then to Nazareth to stroll through the narrow streets, chat and photograph the “woman of the seven skirts,” eat fresh fish and up to the sights of Flint and the site and then down to the beach at Centennial lift. Gone are the days when there was no beach because of the insistence of the advances of the sea.
